Synopsis

Set during the Cold War, unwilling human test subjects are recruited by the Murkoff Corporation to experiment with advanced brainwashing and mind control techniques.

In a world ruled by distrust, fear, and violence, your morals will be challenged, your endurance tested, and your sanity pushed to the brink — all in the name of progress, science, and profit.

Survive — Solo or Co-op

You are prisoners trapped inside a Murkoff facility. Complete the trials alone or team up with 2–4 players. Cooperation is never mandatory, but working together can greatly improve your odds of survival.

Hide or Fight

True to Outlast’s core gameplay, survival means avoiding enemies, hiding, and running when necessary. Murkoff provides tools to enhance stealth and create escape opportunities — but you must earn and upgrade them.

Disturbing tasks must be completed before you are allowed to exit any Trial or MK-Challenge.

Investigate the Truth

Abducted by Murkoff, you are subjected to unethical experiments designed to reshape your psyche. Collect documents and evidence to expose their malpractice.

The Process

Break the Self: Murkoff systematically attacks a subject’s identity and beliefs. Through guilt, isolation, and psychological assault, the individual is broken down and stripped of previous moral boundaries.

Build the Self: With the old ideology shattered, a new one is introduced. The subject is guided toward accepting a replacement belief system, reinforced through relief, acceptance, and calculated psychological manipulation.

Salvation: The final stage resembles rebirth. The subject renounces their former beliefs and fully embraces Murkoff’s ideology — often through ritualistic affirmations and symbolic acts of allegiance.

The Outlast Trials contains strobing and flashing lights that may trigger seizures in a small percentage of individuals sensitive to certain visual patterns.

The game also contains intense violence, gore, graphic sexual content, and strong language.
